#61: How to Strike A Balance and Make a Plan for Teens, Screens and Social Media

61

I hope your summer’s going well. Any issues with screens? Those screens. It’s the absolute bane of every parent’s existence. And it only gets worse when kids get old enough to spell and search! And when puberty kicks in, well it’s a whole other story. I know I’m not the only one who’s silently cursed Steve Jobs every day since my child first laid his hands on an iPhone. Today’s teenagers have never known a world without a smart phone, a computer, or a gaming system. Did our parents say the same thing about us and arcade games, microwaves, and VCRs? Quite possibly (but you can’t search for porn or send naked photos with a microwave!) Every generation has had something to worry about for the generation that follows. Who knows what our kids will worry about for their own children (teleportation?!)

I make this show just for you so if you have any feedback regarding this episode or any others or would like to suggest a future show, I’d love to hear from you!  You can reach me anytime at 864-313-7277 or acoleman@neurogility.com.
